Getting Started
Starting a Study Session
Follow these simple directions to get started with a sample study session:
CPAexcel Online users are required to enter a Username and Password each time.
CPAexcel Offline users will require an internet connection in order to enter your serial number the first time you start the software.

In the welcome panel and fill out the form that begins customizing CPAexcel.
After clicking submit, return to the Homepage and access the courseware by double-clicking Business Environments and Concepts in the Course Selector Panel.
The Table of Contents (TOC) and the Content Panel (CP) will replace the Homepage.
In the TOC, expand the Economic Concepts section by clicking the 
expand box. Repeat this action with the Microeconomics subsection. Click on the title Demand. You have reached the Lesson Level and an Overview will appear in the Content Panel (notice that the Publish button in the toolbar is now active)
This Overview presents a summary of all information related to the lesson, as well as links to practice materials and discussion forums related to the subject at hand.
A typical Study Session will begin with a review of the material. Click Study Text in the Overview and the study material will load.
Follow a review of the text with an initial test of knowledge retention. Return to the Overview by clicking Demand in the TOC and selecting Proficiency Questions (PQs) in the Overview. The Overview indicates that there are 7 associated with Demand. Select PQs and use the navigation buttons in the Content Panel to study them. You may check your overall progress at any time by clicking Grade. You may return to the questions from the progress page.
Returning to the Overview, you see that 5 Past Exam Questions (EQs) associated with Demand. Selecting them in the Overview will load the EQ Launch Page into the CP. From here you may select

. If you feel you know the material well enough to take an exam in which the results will be recorded, choose Exam Mode to open the AICPA Exam window and take a Lesson Exam. Clicking 
in the top right corner will automatically grade your answers and return you to a Results Page in CPAexcel. Below the charts you will have three options:
to return directly to the exam you just took. The question order will NOT be shuffled.
to see the questions you answered incorrectly, along with the correct answer and the rationale.
to see how this exam affected your overall grade.
Click Scorecard now.
You will see your numeric score in the appropriate cell of the scorecard. You may use the Scorecard as an alternate way to navigate up and down the Exam Section. Clicking a lesson title in the scorecard will open the TOC and Overview showing last test results for that lesson.
If you received less than 90% in your lesson exam, CPAexcel recommends that you return to step 5 and repeat until you have shown proficiency in this area.
