The Exam Tutor

The Table of Contents for each exam part has been split into three different strategies based on the same Table of Contents. To switch between them, click the 'Study Strategy Options' button at the top of the table of contents. One of the Study Strategy options is the Exam Tutor.

The Exam Tutor Strategy: The tutor allows you to use the Table of Contents like a menu, selecting which lessons you wish to include in an exam, which you wish to exclude and how many questions you want to test yourself with.

Getting Started:
Select Exam Tutor and you will see two options. Clear All will deselect all lessons, allowing you to be highly selective in choosing which areas to include in an exam. Select All, unsurprisingly, does the opposite. It will select all the lessons in the TOC that have questions. Your exam may contain questions from any area of the exam part.

A selected or unselected lesson is indicated by the presence or absence of a red check-mark in the table of contents respectively. Once the TOC is visible, simply click a lesson to add or remove the check -mark.

Tip: Double-Click the empty box next to a section or subsection title to select/deselect all lessons in that area.

In the content panel, there are several parameters you can adjust to customize your exam:

Avoid questions I've seen: If a question has been viewed previously, it will not be included on the exam. If, however, the number of questions you request is greater than the number of questions that have not been seen, the software will provide you with the number you requested, adding as many seen questions as necessary.

Prefer frequently missed questions: All CPAexcel's Past Exam Questions are designated as Hard, Medium or Easy, based on how often they are correctly or incorrectly answered. Check this box if you wish to avoid questions deemed 'Easy'. If this number is smaller than the number of questions requested, the system will add correctly answered questions as necessary.

Update diagnostic outline with scores: If you wish the questions you answer on an Exam Tutor exam to be carried over to the Diagnostic Outline, check this box. Since the progress icons in the Exam Tutor have been replaced with check marks, updating the Diagnostic Outline is an excellent way to flesh out your diagnostic scores.

Once you complete an exam, you will be presented with the familiar Lesson Overview from where you may view and/or print the details, or retake the same exam.
